Not that is hasn't been a long time since I've written anything, probably a week, I've just been going through a funk. I haven't been very proud of my writings as of late. I'm not sure if it's just because my personal life is crazy and my work life is boring but I'm just struggling. I guess this is the hardship of being a writer. You have to find a way to incorporate writing into your everyday life at the same time as writing great stories.
One of the best things about being a writer is that I can form my own lands, worlds, stories and romances and no one can judge me for it. I can truly pour out my hearts musings and share them with the world and not care if anyone reads them or not. I would love them to, however that might not always be the case.
I know that often times unedited work maybe harder for the more elite, advanced readers and grammar Nazis but this is raw and unedited me. I'm like a diamond, a jewel; Jade.
Just word vomit/ write vomit from the top of my head today.
That is all.

Post 28: Influence and the Ex
From a glance at the time inlaid into his wrist, he could
tell he’d been sitting there too long. He’d delved a little too far into the
connection he held with Adrian that he’d lost track of time. He’d turned off
his sensors that held the mind sharing connection he had with the other
warriors on his team. That, he knew, Ana could trace. The connection he held
with Adrian she couldn’t even touch.
Where the
hell is she? Chase growled in his mind as he searched for her. Pretty soon he’d
have to head back out and follow the trail he’d just caught a whiff of in the
alley behind the bookstore he stood in. He’d wanted to check in with Adrian
first but after standing there for an hour he’d come to the realization she was
blocking him. A large wall, some sort of psychic shield, seemed to stand in his
way and it wasn’t budging. It wasn’t that he stayed in her mind all day or even
that he was always going through her thoughts but just the fact that he couldn’t
even send her a message when he wanted to bothered him. Either something was
wrong or she was hiding something from him.
Withdrawing
from the inner folds of her mind, Chase Hunter felt the outer realm of his
mates mind. Suddenly, a deep emotion hit him. It was coming from somewhere
outside her head, outside his head.
“Hello, you
know, for someone who is chasing me you are doing a very horrible job.” The
sweet seductive sound vibrated against his ear drums. It was physically in
front of him. His eyes popped open and settled on the woman who stood before
him. Ana, with her long hair and gorgeous features smiled up at him, an evil
gleam in the grin.
“Sorry, I’ve
been preoccupied. You know, you could just do me a favor and turn yourself in.”
He smiled at her and waved her in front of him to the chair across the small
table. She looked around the chair at first, ever so cautious, to make certain
he hadn’t booby trapped it. Satisfied, she slid into it and tossed her hair
over her shoulders.
“You know I
can’t do that. But enough about me. We might not have been actual mates but we
did grow up together. Tell me, what’s bothering you?” Her mouth pulled taut on one
side and her brow lowered. He knew by instinct that it was her worried face but
was it genuine? “Come on, I see you weighing your options but honestly, neither
of us is going anywhere anytime soon. I’m not letting you take me in and I know
you won’t leave here unless I do; so! Spill.” He took a deep breath and gazed
into her eyes for any hint of trickery. Seeing none, Chase leaned back in his
chair in a guise of carefree laxation.
“My mate,
my true mate, I found her. She’s blocking me out for some reason.” Chase ran a
frustrated hand through his hair loosening it from the clip at his neck. A few
strands fell forward and before he could catch them back Ana leaned across the
table and tucked them behind his ear. Glancing up at her, Chase’s breath
caught. She’d enthralled him.
“There will
be no arrest made today, tell me what is bothering you, Chase Hunter.” Her
voice leveled out as the heat from her Influence washed over him. A deeper
groove, her only genuine expression he knew, settled between her brows.
“I am in
love.”
“Umm…what?
That is your big problem?” Ana began to laugh but swallowed the chuckle when
Chase’s green eyes pierced hers.
“Something
is wrong with her. I can’t find her and I can’t contact my team. The sensors
are all off. I tried to send her a message, I tried to read her emotions; I’ve
tried everything but I can’t even pinpoint her location. Her gifts, the powers
she has, they are powerful. She’s able to hide her aura. She has the ability to
make invisible her location from any kind of scanner the Malus might use to
locate us but being her mate I am able to find her. It’s like the switch has
just been flipped off.” Chase realized how desperate his voice sounded and
leaned forward to sit up fully in his chair. “Take your thrall off me, woman. I’ll
tell you what I want, the way I want without you forcing me.” He inwardly
sighed as she lifted the net.
“Hide her
aura? I’ve been looking for a way to do that for a while, the only reason I
haven’t been able to fully escape you. Pray, do you think she would tell me how
it’s done?” She sent him a sly sideways smile. He chuckled and shook his head.
“I don’t
even think she knows how to do it. It’s just…the way her gifts work. She doesn’t
even need to think it before it happens. She’s a conduit, she can do…” Chase
shook his head, admiration in his eyes. “…she can probably do anything.” Ana’s
face skewered and she drew back from him.
“I thought
that Egeria Shen was one of the only female conduits of our time.”
“I believe
that you know the answer. That was not a question. What is on your mind,
traitor?” Ana smiled at him again but this time it didn’t reach her eyes.
“I think
that I may know where your mate is. I…” She spoke softly, as to not upset him.
He sat and stared at her, his features schooled. “…I’m afraid that…I am the one
that told him where to find her.” Chase clenched his fists. His eyes burned
emerald green as he leaned closer to her across the small table.
“Who?”
“Devlirus
Malus.” She whispered.
“You…Ana…have
just signed your death sentence.” Snatching her up from where she sat, Chase
ignored the gasped of the readers around him and exited the book store.
“Chase…I
didn’t know. I didn’t know she was yours!” Ana’s voice was shrill, uncollected,
unlike her.
“We shall
see what you do and don’t know.” His eyes burned down at her. He’d find his
mate, no matter what he had to do.

Post 27: Mind Control and Devlirus Malus
Adrian stood just to the side of Tristan as the men secured the store around her. They must have felt something in the store or gathered some sort of information she wasn’t aware of. Mendax raised a hand and shielded off the main entrance to the department store they were standing in.
Turning back toward the front, Adrian gasped as a group of sword wielding men appeared before her. They stood tall, almost giant like and yet lean in comparison to her warriors. Their eyes were filled with black and darkness. Most of them, oddly, wore shaved heads with intricate patterns and designs at their temples. She’d seen them before, in her dreams, in the book she’d found on Malvroy and in Chase’s memories when they mind shared. If they weren’t trying to kill them, Adrian might’ve studied them; admired them for their beauty. Just as she prepared to use her ever extensive training, Adrian felt a burning at the back of her neck again. She gasped, and reached an arm back, but felt nothing.
Dearest, I trust you have had a good morning? I’d like to invite you for a little chat. Do you like tea? The voice filled her mind. It clogged her senses and she found it hard to breathe as it pushed against her shields. Grabbing her head, Adrian barely escaped the swing of Tristan’s sword as he battled a Malus right beside her.
Who are you? Get out of my head!
Oh! That’s not truly how you greet a guest, is it? How rude. And here I thought we could be friends. I’m Devlirus Malus. I’m sure you’ve heard of me. Awesome being, most powerful, filled with hatred towards…well, everyone; I could go on and on with the compliments I’m given but that’s neither here nor there. A piercing pain at the base of her skull nearly blinded her as the presence took over her body. Now, let me get you away from this fight. A lady should never see the bloods of battle. Hasn’t your race learned anything? Adrian’s eyes widened as her feet began to move of their own accord. With each step, she resisted and the pain exploded in her mind.
By now I would have assumed that you learned the harder you resist the more my possession will hurt. The more pain you will feel. What I haven’t told you, is the harder you resist the more pain your mother will feel. Did I mention she sits beside me? Quite a lovely lady, I don’t know why you’d want to leave her alone and unprotected. At the mention of her mother, Adrian immediately ceased resisting. Turning quickly, Adrian caught Tristan’s eye. He seemed angry, in the heat of battle.
Tristan! She screamed to him and he ignored her. Please! Help me! He has my mother. Tristan! He pushed hard against her, blocking her from speaking into his mind. Why won’t you help me? Her face fell as he shoved the man before him and stood as she was drawn away. Looking towards the other warriors, Adrian gasped as they all seemed to stand there, letting her be taken. All of their minds blocked against her. Had they used her as bait? Would they really turn her in? Did Chase know about this? Is this why he hadn’t come back? What are you getting in return for this? She turned in on herself, despair filling her soul. A laugh, as loud as a cannon, reverberated around her brain.
I guess they lied; they won’t protect you after all. What did you think, dearest, that you’d fall in love and you would live happily ever after with your sad band of barbarians forever? Ha! If I had a coin for every time that came true…well…I’d be penniless!
The voice in her head continued to taunt her but she blocked it out. Her heart sorrowed. Chase had taken Tristan’s side and she didn’t want to jump to conclusions but he’d completely shut her out the entire day. Maybe he knew that she’d called her mother. Was this the punishment for directly disobeying an order? She was strong, she was a conduit, she had gifts; all of which she could use to get her and her mother out of this. Then they would get as far away from Devlirus, the Malus and the warriors. Maybe then she’d be able to heal her heart.
I doubt it. His voice was soft in her mind as if he were comforting her but it was soon followed by a deep chuckle. She ignored him and shut down her mind; closing off and letting him take over completely. She needn’t fight; resisting his pull drained her. She was too tired to fight; at least for now.

Post 26: The Malus and the Deserter?
Tristan watched the area around them like a hawk. His senses went crazy at the amount of people that were shuffling around them. Drawing his brows together, he huffed and pouted like a young child. Adrian, who stood grinning at his reaction to those around him, put her hands on her hips and sighed.
“You know, I think that I could get used to shopping. There are so many people around, so much to do in one single mall, so many things to see and touch.” She waved her hand at a small child that had ventured closer to them than her parents liked. The father, staring up at the warriors flanking her, stood still. The mother, ever so fearless, darted forward and grabbed the child up into her arms.
“Stay close.” She whispered, they heard using their excellent hearing. Adrian smiled and pressed a little Influence in the woman’s direction Keep close watch to your child, but don’t smother. In the man’s direction, she frowned and pushed a little harder Protect your family, don’t just stand there! The man stepped forward, his lips closed into a tight lipped line.
”Sorry for the intrusion,” he stated. He wrapped a protective arm around the woman and steered the two away.
“You’ll do to remember not to be so obvious in using your gifts in public. We don’t want to be discovered just because a man’s weakness angers you. It seemed the woman could do just fine on her own. Don’t you relate to that?” Mendax’s voice held menace and dripped of shade. Adrian turned to face him but he’d already turned away, toward the store Tristan had found her in just the day before.
“What is with you guys today?” She tried to keep her irritation out of her voice, keep the day calm, but they all seemed so agitated and she wasn’t sure what she’d done wrong.
“We are just prepared for anything.” Tristan touched the tip of his index finger to well hidden sword at his hip. She understood now, they just wanted to keep her safe. Chase wasn’t there and they wanted to protect her. She tried reading them but all of their shields were strongly guarding their minds and emotions. Turning to follow Mendax, Tristan looked back at her and motioned with his hand for her to walk in front of him. Without waiting for her to move, he started forward.
Jogging slightly to catch up with the long legged man, Adrian glanced around the food court and gasped as a stinging touched the back of her neck. It was as if the small hairs there had been scorched by some unseen fire. Closing her lips tightly, Adrian sent out feelers and gasped again as another blast of invisible fire burned up the hairs on her arms. Glancing back, Adrian watched as Tristan surveyed the area. He didn’t seem to be affected by the flame that burned. Julius, who openly watched a group of women that stood just outside of the clothing store they were approaching, suddenly locked eyes with her. Moving quickly in front of Tristan, Julius placed a calming hand on her forehead stopping her in her tracks.
“What’s wrong? Your pulse is spiking.” Julius’ face hardened as he sent a quick glance to Tristan, Vectio and Mendax who stood just to the left inside the store. Sending out a message to Technik that the rest of the warriors could hear, Julius used his gift to slow Adrian’s pulse. Technik, let me get a full scan of the area. We’ve got incoming and Adrian seems to know about it. Her receptors are spiking. She’s getting a message mentally from someone.
I'm not getting anything. If she is receiving or sending out a message to anyone, it's stronger than anything I have here that could detect it. Technik's voice in their minds was sure fire and grim.
“No, no, I’m fine; really.” Adrian stepped back from Julius' intrusive touched and turned to walk into the store. She passed by Mendax, who watched her coolly, and continued on to the clothes on the racks they’d placed on layaway. As a group they fingered through the articles, picking out the things they liked and didn’t like. Whenever Adrian moved to a different part of the store they followed on her heels, their sensors raised. Mendax had slipped back out into the mall and pretended to woo a group of women as he watched the entrance for the Malus.
A crash sounded in the back of the store loud enough that Mendax was called to alert. Tristan immediately sent mental notes to his warriors telling them where he wanted them to be. They moved around the store, wavering their hands above their swords and hidden artillery. Tristan turned as four men entered the store, one hand grasping their long board swords, the other slightly extended in front of them. The swords shimmered and glistened, telling Tristan they was hidden from the human eye. He pushed Adrian behind him and lifted his own transparent sword. Mendax, shield! He yelled through the connection.
Mendax immediately put the store on lock down; controlling the minds of the workers and shoppers directing them to a safe place in their storage room. He put a shield on the front of the store, blocking people from seeing the entrance against human eyes. If they were to battle, they’d battle in private and without the usual casualties of war. Just as he finished the shield four more men stepped through it and held out long red broad swords. Their eyes were black as night and each seemed to hold the same stance; zombie like in their attack. One, not seeing him standing just beside a large fixture, was the first to go down. Mendax grasped the Malus by his mind and held him frozen. Using his surprise advantage, he jumped from the rack and severed the man’s head. His eyes, locked in paralysis, looked up at him, devoid of all life.
Turning away from Mendax’s slaughter, Tristan locked in on the battle before them, briefly noticing the other Malus trickle in from somewhere else in the store. Was there another entrance? Tristan reached out with his mind but couldn't feel Adrian to send her a message. Worried, Tristan glanced around only to find her gone. Following his intuition, Tristan turned back just in time to see her slip from the store, exiting easily through Mendax’s shield. At the last second, Adrian’s head turned back and her eyes pierced his. Wide, white and filled with regret, Adrian’s eyes burned his soul before she abandoned them. Regret? Yeah right, guilt is more like it! He felt her probe against his brain but he refused to let her in. Seconds later she disappeared from the store and from his sight. Bellowing his anger at the betrayal, Tristan loped forward and shoved his small dagger into the Malus that stood before him. The man had come swinging but Tristan hadn’t registered any of the blows as he’d watched Adrian leave.
Julius walked up, the bodies of the two Malus he’d killed laying behind him.
She left, just in the middle of the fight. She really left. The disbelief in Tristan’s mind voice stunned them all.
“You already knew she would betray us. Why act surprised?” The disgust dripping from Mendax’s tongue burned the tips of their ears. Tristan appeared, a split in time, just before him almost knocking Mendax off his feet.
“I knew something was going on but I didn’t know she would actually do it.” He turned from the lesser warrior and ran a frustrated hand through his hair. “We’ll get this mess cleaned up and then head back to the safe house.”
“And leave without her? But what will we tell Chase? How…”
“She made her choice!” Tristan bellowed, the vein in the middle of his forehead pounded out as he whirled on Julius. “She betrayed us, she is no longer under our protection. Chase should have known to guard his heart and it is not on me to protect it.” He then sent a mental message to Technik requesting help with transport and clean up. Mendax released the workers and shoppers as the bloodied bodies disappeared and the shoppers continued about their day.
The car ride was silent, Tristan took the second vehicle alone, he’d sit in his thoughts and think of what to do next. He was a leader after all; he needed a plan.

Post 25: Lasagna
It wasn’t long after they’d left for the mall that Adrian felt something was wrong. It was like all the warriors were acting odd, in their own way, towards her. Mendax held his breath when she came by as if he didn’t want to breathe the same air as her. Julius made jokes but she could tell the mirth didn’t quite reach his eyes, that and his riddles seemed down right depressing. Vectio, who’d spoken to her more over the last month than he had in the beginning was back to being silent. She didn’t know what was going on but she figured either it was her or they’d all ingested bad lasagna.
Pressing her hand to her own rumbling stomach, Adrian frowned out at the passing scenery. It all looked like a blur to her at the speed they were going.
“Hey, speedy, don’t you think we should slow down a little. To NOT want to draw attention to yourself you sure are good at attracting police.” Just as Tristan lightly tapped the break with his foot, a cop turned into their lane following behind them. “See! I didn’t even have to use my gift for that one!” She smiled genuinely over at him but he seemed to be reserved, turned away from her. Not speaking, Tristan nodded thanks in her direction and then went back to focusing on the road; at a much slower pace.
“Hey, I was thinking, maybe we can buy something for the house that isn’t so…old. You know, something new that you guys could remember me by.” That definitely got his attention.
“And where, exactly, do you think you’re going?” his voice came out gruff, suspicious.
“Oh, I just meant like when I leave.” She laughed, not quite recognizing the mischievous look on his face. “Chase and I aren’t going to want to stay with you forever! He could still be your brother and warrior but we are not going to want to live in the Safe House for the rest of our lives!” She spoke incredulously as if she couldn’t even believe he didn’t understand that.
“You don’t plan to go anytime soon, do you? I mean, you can’t leave today.” He put emphasis on the last word and kept his face forward. Behind him, Vectio and Julius sent feelers to each other. Tristan, who was transmitting their converse to Technik back at the safe house and Mendax who drove the second car, smirked softly. It was as if he was saying ‘Gotcha!’
“No…what…” Adrian turned almost her entire body in his direction, a sad pitying look covered her face. “Listen, Tristan, I don’t know exactly how they do things on Arinth but here on Earth when you want to marry someone you don’t stay in the Frat house. You move out, do your own thing. I mean, I know you will miss us but I’m sure Chase will come back for any missions you need him for. And Arinth! Don’t forget about her! She’s going to need someone feminine and soft around the house so of course I’ll be back. I’m sorry but none of you have a soft bone in your body!” She smiled again and laughed. “You can’t get rid of me that easily.” Tristan harrumphed as the voices of the other warriors in his head laughed, turning his transmitter off, he twitched uncomfortably in his seat.
“I see.”
“Yes, but like I said. We should get something to represent me. A nick-knack or something! I am special enough for that right?”
“Yes, Adrian. You are special enough for that. We all care about you. We all want you to be safe. Sure, you can have your knick knack.” Tristan had turned his face towards her and put emphasis on the all, representing all of the warriors. She grew silent under his look and turned to face the road.
What’s wrong with him, she thought to herself. Glancing back at the warriors who seemed to be riding toward the gallows Adrian huffed as she turned forward in her seat. Morning grumpiness must be a Dark Warrior gene they all share. She shook her head and decided to stay silent the rest of the trip.

Post 24: The Malus and the Betrayer
“Are you sure?” Mendax lounged against the large oak desk in Tristan’s office and rapped his knuckles against its surface. “I’m just saying, she’s been with us for some time now. I hardly believe she would try and betray us now.”
“Yes, but you are also very biased, something I’ve been meaning to talk to you about. You know that Chase and Adrian are inseparable for life now that they’ve true mated.” Tristan stood and steepled his hands on the desk. “You have to pull it together, Mendax. I’ve never seen a woman bring you to your knees before. Face it, they have already preformed the Mauma. Any chance you had of challenging for her is gone. Would you want to do that anyway? Ruin a warriorship over a woman who has clearly already made her decision?”
“She didn’t really make her decision though, did she? We made it for her!”
“We didn’t make it for her, don’t go blaming us. She was connected to him from the moment they laid eyes on each other. If anything blame the Light Warriors but I doubt that will do much. They also have no control over the true mates.” Tristan leaned forward and pressed his Influence on Mendax.
“I think I can handle it myself. I don’t need to be made to stay away from someone.” Mendax threw his hand up to thwart the Influence he felt pressing on his conscious. “I know the consequences of going after another Warriors mate. I will leave her alone but I can’t exactly promise that I won’t still feel something for her.”
“Honestly, I think that we all feel something for her.” Tristan threw his hand up when Mendax’s eyes raised almost to his hairline. “Hear me out. I think everyone feels something for Adrian because she is the only human here that we have been able to successful connect and integrate into our world. Maybe it’s due to the fact that she is part Arinthian but I’m not so sure. She has something about her that is…unbelievably gorgeous. You have to realize that that is an appeal for all of us. Except for the occasional tupping we have been isolated and distant from our world. We most likely all miss the allure of Arinthian women and having one in our presence has messed with all of our minds. You just have to realize the separation between that and her being Chase’ mate. We’ve all come to be close to Adrian, Mendax.” Tristan cleared his throat before continuing. “However, that doesn’t take away from the fact that she’s betrayed us.” Tristan shook his head when Mendax opened his mouth to speak against it. Technik, will you come up to my study and bring Julius and Vectio with you. Tristan sent out a mental note knowing that Technik was most likely the only one with his receiver on. Moments later the three men filed into the room.
“Hey, what’s up with this? I was enjoying a nice long shower.” Julius popped a hip on one of the chairs before the desk and ran a hand through his long wet hair. His eyes were slightly annoyed but the smile on his face announced that he wasn’t really upset. Tristan waited until the others settled into the room.
“Technik is going to tell us what we’ve found and I will let you guys in on the inside information.” Tristan felt the air thicken almost immediately. Julius straightened against the chair, Mendax turned and looked out the window overlooking the vast yard below hanging a hand from the window runner above his head, Vectio sat with his legs wide and a blank expression on his face. Technik mentally sent excel graphs to each of the warriors and lowered his head.
“I found large spikes of Malus activity in the nearing areas. The nearby cities seemed to be empty when we moved here years ago. They seemed to have the smallest traces of activity compared to any other region. It was one of the reasons I was set on us being able to take over this safe house instead of the Korean or European one. Here, in the states, the Malus seem to avoid the smaller areas. Being just outside of New York gives us access to a large metropolitan city but a higher level of security and privacy. Since yesterday the Malus activity in this area has tripled. I’m not exactly sure why but even though they can’t see us and can’t detect our safe house they have gravitated towards this area; and fast.” He cleared his throat and looked over at Tristan. “We are safe, for now, but anyone that leaves this area will be detected. Of course, they won’t be able to track you once you are back in the grounds of the Safe House but that doesn’t mean they can’t just figure out the small lonely house is really hiding something much bigger.” He pushed the lock of hair that had fallen over his eyes back behind its ear where it caught.
“Adrian betrayed us.” Tristan figured there was no sense in sugar coating what he’d brought them into the room to tell them. A dark silence settled over the room as each of the warriors, save Mendax who stood like a statue at the window still, looked up at him. Then it seemed as if all at once they began to deny it. Even Vectio, in his own silent way, looked at him with disbelief. “I didn’t want to believe it either but she purposely deceived me. We were shopping yesterday and she purposely ditched me to make phone calls. How ironic is it that the moment she does that the Malus are crawling all over our asses?”
“But how…how could she do that when she is mated to one of us? That doesn’t make any sense Tristan and I refuse to throw out accusations. Sometimes things that be may not be as easy to comprehend as the eye’s first look. If only the actions yielded a…” Julius was interrupted by a low growl from Tristan.
“No! I have no time for your countless riddles! I have looked at this every way possible. I don’t know why she has betrayed us or who she talked to but I know that whoever it was lead the Malus directly to us just as if we let them in the door.” He fisted his hands and straightened like the leader he was before his team. “We will go back to the mall today, just as she planned, as she insisted. We will find what is waiting for her there.” Tristan looked around at each of them and took in their glowering eyes. “We always thought there was something more to her, to her aura, why she seemed to flow so nicely with us. We don’t protect traitors or spies; especially not in our own home.”
“Tristan…I think we should discuss this. We could definitely be wrong. We could be heading straight into a trap.”
“Her trap, Technik, her trap! But we are definitely smarter than that. So far, she doesn’t know that we are aware. I trust each one of you will keep your mouth shut. Technik you will stay here and guard the safe house and Arinth. Vectio and Julius will accompany me with Adrian, shopping.” He turned toward Mendax and sent a feeler out to the warrior, he had a strong sense that he was not paying any attention. Mendax turned toward his a raised an eyebrow, his jaw clenched tight. “You are going to scout the mall.”
“So…you’re putting me on human babysitting duty, nice.” His voice was irritated and he made moves to leave the room.
“Mendax, you’re not babysitting humans. You’re looking for Malus. You are really the only one that can sense the change in the aura between humans and the Malus since Hunter isn’t here. Obviously, I would need you to be look out. Please, don’t question my authority as it’s not yours to question.” At the last statement each of the warriors stood taller. He threw his weight on them. “We leave in thirty, someone let Arinth know we are leaving and let Adrian know to be ready.” He glanced down at the papers on his desk, dismissing them. Once they’d cleared the space, Tristan sat down heavily in his chair. Chase is going to have his head when he got back and realized that not only had Adrian betrayed them but Tristan put her in harm’s way without speaking to him about it. He didn’t know how deep the betrayal went but the day before her aura had smelled as bad as the mist animals in the forests of Jungelus. If she betrayed him, fine, he’d deal with it but if she betrayed his men, his warriors and he lost any of them he would find her. There would be no need for Hunter’s gifts. There would be no place she could hide from his wrath.
